SF – Union Square

This area is filled with different shops. SF is a very walkable city, lots of nice little square for people to sit and relax. We were staying near this area but there was just so much to do in SF that we didn’t have much time to shop around here. We only ended up shopping in Uniqlo.

Shoyu ramen! It was a big bowl of goodness, there was lots of things in there .. from fried dumpling, different kind of meats, veggies. The ramen was very chewy, not soggy. The only comment is I wish the egg was a soft boiled one instead of a hard egg.

Crab Pot Restaurant

My favourite seafood restaurant so far and only available in Seattle. I tried to find something similar in Toronto but still with no success. So this is the must-eat restaurant on my list every time I am here. I just love when they dump the big bowl of freshly boiled seafood onto the table to eat. Dipping the crab meat into the hot butter… mmm… I’m craving for it again just thinking about it.

I’ve been in Seattle at least four times now, so I have done pretty much most of the tourist attractions by now. But every time I’m here I always need to go see the waterfront and downtown just to walk around. This time, they build the new ferris wheel by the waterfront. It is big and permanent. It looks like the one in Niagara Falls, maybe bigger? I didn’t go on it as there was a long line up plus it was expensive.

An as always, we have to eat at Crab Pot. It is our family’s to go place, still serve the best seafood dump on to your table. I still think it is the best place for reasonable price, still can’t find anywhere else serving the same thing in any other cities I have visited.

Kukai Ramen & Izakaya

With my trend of eating ramen, of course I have to try the ones in Bellevue. As usual as in other ramen places, we had to wait for a table. Probably waited about 20 minutes but we got a table. I ordered the Tonkatsu shio ramen. It was just weird having white people cooking my ramen instead of Japanese people.

Anyways, my bowl of ramen arrived. The pork soup base was pretty good. The noodles was ok, not as chewy as I like it. The pork was also only ok, not that tender and dry and there was only one piece. Overall, the bowl was alright, not that impressive compared to the ones I had in Toronto.

Noppakao Thai Restaurant

My brother said this is the best Thai food around so while I was visiting, have to try it out. We were starving so luckily, we didn’t have to wait for a table. There was a lot to chose from. My favourite is this Panang curry with brown rice. It was so delicious. Not a lot of Thai places serve this curry so I was so happy to see it on the menu. The sauce was amazing, I finished the entire bowl of rice with the sauce.

My next favourite was the Noppakao Thai fried rice – Stir-fried brown rice with red curry, egg, onion, baby corn, broccoli, bell pepper, snow peas, and basil. It’s great that they have brown rice option, at least it is a bit healthier compared to white rice. I love the sauce, it has a bit sweetness to it too.
