I felt so guilty eating all-you-eat for lunch. But being the accountant myself, the lunch prices vs the lunch tasting menu and the amount of food, just makes more sense doing the lunch tasting menu. So I went for it… try to only eat the stuff that are special. The food is decent for all you can eat. I had a variety of food – hiyashi wakame (seaweed salad), Edamame, yam tempura, shrimp tempura, gyoza, agedashi tofu, assorted sashimi, rainbow roll, golden curry, unagi fried rice. I think I did quite good, was really full afterwards, good thing I was wearing a spandex dress.
$17 for all you can taste lunch. On the side note, I got scammed with getting the green tea – $3 so beware of the extra charges and just stick with water. It was a really busy place during lunch time, and many people doing all you can eat.

Received a lovely gift from my friend… a beautiful silver plated bracelet.
I love receiving pretty jewellery. 😀
Woohoo, another win tonight against Red Sox 4-2! Stroman is hot with another strong outing, 7 innings allowing only 1 run and got his 7th win for the season. On the offensive side, Colby Rasmus start the scoring with a solo home run!! 😛 He later single and scored on Anthony Gose’s 2 RBI double. Funny moment today when Francisco caught a liner and got to first base for the out while Stroman was running towards the bag to help, Francisco called him off, got the out and ran to each other and end up hugging each other. So funny, was watching the replay over and over again to get a good laugh. 😀
What a nice game to watch when you are cheering for the winning side. It was like a deja vu from exactly one week ago when Blue Jays played against the Red Sox at Rogers Centre, we lost 14-1. A week later, same score but the teams reversed. 2 home runs from Melky Cabrera with 5 RBIs (one batting left, one batting right side), newbie Ryan Goins got 4 RBIs. Scored 9 runs in one inning. Rasmus got a double with 1 RBI today too…woohoo. 🙂 R.A. Dickey pitched great 7 innings only allowing 1 run with 10 strikeouts!
One of Melky’s homer hit out of the park and smashed a car windshield that was parked right outside. Funny (as what are the chances of that happening but sad for the car owner … coming out from the game that Boston lost and that the windshield is smashed. Let’s hope the rest of the series is not going to be what will happen to the Red Sox and lose the next 2 games in the series.
Getting your own personalized Coca-Cola can is awesome. They had a kiosk today at Eaton Centre. I was there early in the day so the line up was not that bad, only waited 20 minutes in line vs. others who waited over an hour during peak time. It only took 15 seconds to print my name on the Coke can. It was a smaller size can, not the regular size. It was worth the wait since my name is not popular that I can find in the grocery for their campaign.
Every time I pass by this place, it is always so noisy up at the patio so this time it was my turn. The dinning room on the main floor was very dim and dark, and very stuffy so we decided to go upstairs to the open area. It was too bad that all the tables were booked, so there was only the bar seats along the skylight. But it was still outdoors in the patio looking down on Portland St. It was clear blue skies and it wasn’t that humid today so there was a nice breeze.
I ordered the Estate pizza – prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella, fresh heirloom tomatoes, arugula, shaved parmigiano, basil oil. The pizza came was not hot, the crust was only a little warm and the crust was so tough, it was impossible to cut up and the tear off. So I ended up eating it like a salad. The wood fire pizza was ok, not that impressive. My friend ordered the pasta dishes which was better. Mafalde ai Funghi – portobello, porcini, oyster mushrooms, truffle, cream sauce. It was very rich and filled with taste of portobello taste. The other pasta dish was the Rigatoni Lucani – braised ontario lamb, tomato, green olives, pecorino, gremolata. The lamb was still tough, so the portobello dish was better. But both the pasta came only luke warm as well, would have tasted a lot better if it was hot off the pan. It was definitely better than the pizza though.
The atmosphere here was great though, we had a great time catching up and chilling with a jug of sangria. If it wasn’t the waitress giving us the bill to free up the seats, we might have stayed a little longer. Overall, food was alright, service was good, atmosphere was good.

I’m back again here for another addition of High Tea Fridays. This time we did the Afternoon tea instead of Twilight Tea. The tea I picked this time is the Chai Arms – Cardamom, Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger, Pepper & Organic Black. I expected it to be a little more “chai spice” taste but it was pretty light. The scones were the best, still a little warm when it was served. The sandwiches were ok the second time around, it fell like there wasn’t much filling in the sandwiches, can’t taste much other than the bread.
For the sweets – there was a blueberry tart, marshmallow, brownie and chocolate cake. I must say, it wasn’t anything fancy, was not impressed. I think a cupcake would have tasted better than the selections we got today. But the atmosphere was nice, beautifully decorated purple / white room. I will try another afternoon tea place next time.
